Create Follow-up Tasks for Escalated Cases

Follow the steps below to create an Executable for running a batch job to create follow-up Tasks for escalated Cases.

• Naviage to the "Current => Current" Direction where both the source and target Connections are the current org.
• Click "New Executable", and set the following details:
  • Source Object API Name: Case
  • Target Object API Name: Task
  • Action: Insert
  • Name: Create Tasks for Escalated Cases
• Navigate to the "Retrieve" step, update the SOQL query to filter and preview the source data:
  SELECT CaseNumber, Subject, Type, Priority, Origin, Status, CreatedDate, LastModifiedDate, Account.Name, Contact.Name, TYPEOF Owner WHEN User THEN Name ELSE Name END FROM Case WHERE CreatedDate = LAST_QUARTER AND IsClosed = FALSE AND Status = 'Escalated' AND LastModifiedDate < LAST_N_DAYS:7 ORDER BY LastModifiedDate DESC NULLS LAST
• Navigate to the "Mapping" step, set the mapping for the following Task fields using Case fields and expressions:
  • OwnerId:

    OwnerId

  • WhatId:

    Id

  • WhoId:

    ContactId

  • ActivityDate:

    ADD_DAYS(TODAY(), 7)

  • Description:

    "Follow up on the Case"

  • IsRecurrence:

    FALSE

  • Priority:

    "High"

  • Status:

    "New"

  • Subject:

    "Follow up with " & Contact.Name & " on Case " & CaseNumber

• Navigate to the "Verify" step, add the vericiation SOQL.
  SELECT Id, Subject, ActivityDate, Description, WhoId, Priority FROM Task
• Click "Execute Batch" to execute the batch job on-demand.
• Click any Batch Execution to view the execution log and verify the results.
• Refresh the verification query to view all the created Tasks.
